At the entrance, the coat of arms that signals the time of construction of the residence, dating back to 1700, recalls its history. Part of a larger complex, Casa Cesira was designed by architect Ferdinando Sanfelice, in conjunction with the foundation of the Conservatory, a charitable institution wanted by Bishop Antonio Sanfelice to train and initiate young women, especially the most vulnerable, into work. The adjacent church, also designed by Sanfelice, was completed in 1722, with the dedication ceremony celebrated by the bishop.
